Lionheart Foundation is collaborating with Adele Lafrance to provide the workshop "Working Through Caregiver Self-Blame: through the lens and interventions of EFFT (with integration of co-parenting difficulties.)

EFFT research has demonstrated that when parents carry self-blame, not only do they suffer but their caregiving can be negatively affected as well. In fact, when self-blame is deep, typical strategies to lift self-blame, including reassurance, may be ineffective or even counter-productive. This training will provide clinicians with a theoretical foundation supported by a series of cognitive and emotion-focused strategies to transform caregiver self-blame.

Benefits of these interventions include:
· Reduced shame and self-blame
· Better quality of life
· Decreased defensiveness
· Increased sense of empowerment / engagement
· Increased access to caregiving instincts

This session is for any caregiver interested in learning more about these modalities, as well as any clinician who would like to learn strategies to incorporate with the families that they work with.

Lionheart Foundation is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) to offer Continuing Education (CE) for psychologists. This workshop is offered for three (6.0) hours of CE Credit. Full attendance at the 6 hour presentation is required to receive Continuing Education Credits. Partial credit will not be awarded, and late arrivals or early departure will preclude awarding of Continuing Education Credits. Lionheart Foundation maintains responsibility for the program.
